War Pass out of Kentucky Derby |
|
WAR PASS, the best American two-year-old of last year, will not run in the Kentucky Derby in a fortnight's time (May 3) after injuring a leg. War Pass was surprisingly beaten at betting odds of 1/20 last time out when Tale Of Ekati nabbed him just near the line in Tampa Bay's Wood Memorial. It seems the fracture at the back of the fetlock may have happened in that race. War Pass' trainer Nick Zito was inconsolable. Zito said: "He was one of the very best horses I have ever trained. It is gutting but I do expect War Pass to be back on the track in a few months time." |
