Lucky stall 13 for I Want Revenge in Kentucky Derby |
|
Jeff Mullins, trainer of Kentucky Derby betting favorite I Want Revenge, was hopeful his horse's allocated berth of stall 13 would prove lucky for Saturday's $2 million race. I Want Revenge certainly caught the eye when a facile victor of the Gotham Stakes and it was that victory that sees the colt trading as low as 5/2 for the race with some sportsbooks. Mullins said. "I am happy with stall 13. We will ride the horse close up. We don't want to have to pass the whole field to win." Second
favorite Dunkirk is close by in stall 15 and his trainer Todd
Pletcher seemed happy with the outside stall. The two foreign Godolphin representatives, Regal Ransom and Desert Party, trained by Saeed bin Suroor, both have good form from the recent Dubai Festival meeting. Bin Suroor chose stall 10 for the former but did not get to choose for Desert Party until second last so got lumbered with the 19 berth. Bin Suroor was optimistic: "They are both in great form and there will be no excuses."
